• CCA and members continue to monitor legislation in New York that would exempt convenient care clinics from the corporate practice of medicine prohibition. The bill would also open the clinics up to regulation by the Department of Health. The bill is currently in committee.
• CCA staff attended a recent meeting of the Center to Champion Nursing in America, an initiative of the AARP, AARP Foundation and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Participants meet regularly to discuss strategies to implement the recommendations of last fall's Future of Nursing report, which proposed that nurses be more fully integrated into the healthcare system as providers.
